Hourglass

A room with a view,
Mind sprinkled with dew,
Months seem like days,
Minutes seem like years,
Time is the price of life
Spent on dreams or fears.
Healer of heart wounds,
Yet cure things it won't;
Time is an illusion,
Like language unclear.
Many words yet little said,
Perceptions a guess,
Lines become unclear.
Like words time becomes,
Life's invincibility cloak.
Dense and forboding,
Or light and alluring;
Time can be freeing
Time can be obscuring.
Time is a hypocrite,
save it! spend it!
The young grow quickly,
The older begin to fear it.
Time can be hard to kill
Yet so easy to waste it.
Here there is plenty
There, mere fragments
Do what you can,
Time has no replacement.
Just when it seems close,
Time's up, you missed it.
Race it, or chase it
Fear it, or embrace it
time is your wizard,
your choices a statement.
Will you transcend it,
And choose a magical brew,
Stand in something old
Or step into something new.
Only one truth in time,
And the seeker is you,
Spend your time loving,
Or your life it will subdue.
