Mani and Sol (The Sun and the Moon)
Never have opposites been more true,
conspiring companions, the Sun and the Moon.
Seemingly opposing factors
create the landscape for a perfect mood.
The Sun; she is afire,
her temper and her passion blinding the newest of eyes;
The Moon; he is cold and desolate, quiet and wise;
he beckons from yonder in the lonesome night.
The two complete the atmosphere,
and balance each other to the end of time
Universally there are many others,
Suns and Moons, so many from which to choose
But a Moon with a Moon to call his companion?
In each others shadow they would collide.
Or the Sun shining brightly against another Sun,
competing for who can shine brightest of all.
The Sun shines just right,
boldly with her innocence and virtue,
never dimming, never slight.
The clouds may cover her,
yet each cloud surely passes,
and she sheds her revealing light.
The Moon, he is slight,
his purpose is quiet,
he watches and contemplates his flight.
Where he is a warrior at night,
she screams brightly in the dawn aiding is fight.
If both sat quietly, day or night,
we would all lose this wonderful chance to be alive.
Nothing, then, left
to eat, to drink, to see, speak of, or to write.
No dew sparkling in the morning,
nor stars twinkling in the night.
Their opposing elements have stood the test of time,
where there is light there is dark
Where there is joy there is pain,
and where there is black there must also be white.
Although they are different, their pairing is perfection.
Mani and Sol,
the warriors of the galaxy,
lovers and friends, sharing a destiny.
Their gestures differ, but create harmony in this life,
They will go round together until the end of time.
