The Road Untravelled
My heart asked the questions
No other heart was able to witness,
but ours, us two, two hearts at once
Playing an aching tune
Playing on in the night,
So lonesome in their knowing,
Sorrowful in what was to be right.
The love I had a taste of
The face I had dreams of
And I asked the question,
many could never imagine...
that it was not time,
that it will be one day
May I, when the time is right
See your face enter the light?
Hold you tight, and whisper adoration.
lamentation, a promise...
Until then, in Gods arms rest
wait there, it is safe there,
In Gods time, and for now
we must live our best.
No other heart was able to witness,
but ours, us two, two hearts at once
Playing an aching tune
Playing on in the night,
So lonesome in their knowing,
Sorrowful in what was to be right.
The love I had a taste of
The face I had dreams of
And I asked the question,
many could never imagine...
that it was not time,
that it will be one day
May I, when the time is right
See your face enter the light?
Hold you tight, and whisper adoration.
lamentation, a promise...
Until then, in Gods arms rest
wait there, it is safe there,
In Gods time, and for now
we must live our best.
