Riding the Wave

Everything changes child,
yet we are not our mistakes
we are the time spent changing
and the risks we learn to take.
Time has hills and valleys
ups and downs, all proof
that you will often be grateful,
and sometimes a little confused.
Turn around, child, gaze back
Look life right in the eye,
open your arms, embrace it
learn how to swim, how to fly.
Do something amazing,
says the moon to the ocean at night
as it rises over the horizon,
and so too the ocean raises its tides.
Listen, I promise you one thing
feel it when you close your eyes,
all life follows your heart beat
the original musical lullaby.
Strength is like a rivers waterfall
as the fish that fight against it
don't mind what others are sayin,
they know their destination.
It's a beautiful thing, child
when solitude smiles upon you,
no matter the pleasure or strife
when your own smile will suffice.
Alchemy is not so invisible,
particles colliding to no end
something hard to comprehend
that you get more than you invest.
Thank each moment for teaching
the necessity of yin and yang
what it feels like to have nothing
yet give everything your best.
Believe in your being child,
I am just a being too,
it's not always an easy road
know I believe in you.
I'll tell you another secret,
no effort is ever too late, wasted,
time is blessing you because,
there will always be sun and moon.
There will always be night and day
on this you can depend
you won't get gold from straw,
but you will get what you invest.
So hold on to your pearls,
keep them close to you
for they will be your riches,
your character which outlives you.
Life reaching into the unknown,
cognizant of lucid dreaming
so don't tie knots with nightmares,
build a bridge of hope instead.
Be true, integral, and remember
have fun and be amused,
never let anyone equate you
with their own outdated dues.
