Starseed

And what does one do who is certain of one thing,
that she belongs in the forest, the sky, the ocean?
And what of that place of belonging since day one,
that place full of animals and stars and depths unseen?
And what does she do who finds herself amidst humans
a place so foreign it at times powerfully subdues her?
Running with the owls, swimming with the sharks
sailing through skies at night with the Phoenix
treading paths with bears, and moths who guide the way
standing with a stag at a fork in the road,
the eagle beckons her further and further away.
Into sanctuary, the only place left peaceful and with reason
In nature always her heart lays, and so she dreams.
Dreams of the day the stars come down to meet her
and carry her away, a Starseed carried home
through thousands of years of mystery and sky
through and through, and back to her final resting place
a mount on some forgotten planet,
far beyond the milky way, far outside the galaxy
amidst peace and nature, an untouched heaven.
looking back below, such a disgraceful sight to behold
such a waste of time and thought, that Eden where she stayed.
Back home she sighs softly, as her animal brothers sit beside her.
Home. She never forgot this place, not for one moment
Or the brotherhood of all things, Home.
Onto her panther, the only vehicle necessary
carried back into the woods, graceful and quiet
not one knew she went so far away every night
every night she dreamed of the day
the day day she'd make her way back Home.
